Please go to Art 21. (Links to an external site.) Find John Feodorov and read his biography. Other links will lead you to slideshows and interviews with the artist. Then watch the video clips before answering the following discussion question:
Feodorov states that art should be provoking. Explain what he means, using examples from his work. (Discuss his material choices, technique, etc. using the art specific terms you are learning)
What is an iconoclast? Identify both contemporary and historic incidents where traditional ideas or sacred images have been destroyed. Why would a person or group of people choose to do that? What was the result of their actions?
