Assignment: Information Systems Consultant Resource Options

As a leader within the information technology organization, you may find it difficult to manage the work projects with the existing Information Systems Development employees. Oftentimes, because of the budget, time constraints, competing projects, and limited internal expertise, you must consider other non-employee resources as a way of completing your business projects; however, there are advantages and disadvantages to the use of non-employees. You must consider the work required, the expertise needed, and both domestic and international laws governing the use of non-employees, among other things. Prior to using non-employees by way of outsourcing or offshoring or crowdsourcing, it is important first to understand what expertise you need and what you want to accomplish, and finally to compare and contrast your various resources to select the best consultant resource option.

To prepare for this Assignment, review the Learning Resources for the week, specifically the Week 4 Assignment Scenario, and other scholarly resources you desire to help answer Executive C’s questions.
