Strategic Planning
You have been hired as the new General Manager of a City Club. As part of your interview process, you asked to see the Club’s Strategic Plan, and found it to be a clear and concise document which clearly indicated that the Club wanted to focus on high quality dining for its members, and would do whatever it took to ensure it had the best dining in the city.
In your first month, you have sat through meetings where the finance committee is complaining we are paying too much for dining room staff, the House Committee wants to spend $2M on a new fitness facility and the Board is complaining that our dues are higher than the Club down the street which offers a casual snack bar.
As the Club Manager, what specific operational steps would you take to ensure that the Strategic Plan is used as a guide for all of he Club’s decisions?
