Each of us has our own way of dealing with conflict. However, our Conflict Negotiation Style (pdf) might not be the most effective method of resolving a problem. This assignment asks you to describe the verbal communication and nonverbal communication for each conflict negotiation style – accommodation, avoidance, collaboration, competition, and compromise Imagine the following situation with YOU as the employee:

You were expecting a pay increase at work, but then you learned that a coworker who has less time on the job than you received a pay increase, and you did not. (Note: In this case the conflict is with your boss, not the other employee…it’s not their fault that they received the raise and you didn’t.)

For each of the five Styles of Conflict Negotiation, provide descriptions of your verbal communication AND nonverbal communication.
