Communications Analytical Paper

Analytical Paper 2 requires you to illustrate media and technology’s impact on culture and social roles and relationships. This summative assessment is not an opinion paper and should not contain your opinion on the events. It should contain your analysis of the topic using a variety of sources to provide appropriate perspective on the context of that topic as well as the objectivity of your analysis. Your paper will also include a References section with at least three sources. Analytical Paper 2 is due in Module Eight. 

This assessment will assess your mastery with respect to the following course outcomes:  Illustrate technology’s role in and impact on the field of communication in terms of process, relationships, and future trends  Examine the effects of various media on the interests and well-being of individuals and communities in a global, interdependent age Prompt Analyze technology and media’s role in and impact on culture and social roles and relationships in our global, interdependent era. 

Illustrate your discussion with specific examples drawn from the course content and your research. Include an objective prediction, based on variety of sources with different perspectives, on how future trends will change technology and media’s role and impact on culture and social roles/relationships. 

Analyze the effects of the transition from print to electronic media on the interests and well-being of individuals, communities, and the global community. You must use identify and use credible scholarly resources (See these resources for help) to support your discussions. Support the ideas presented with relevant, properly formatted quotes. Ensure that quotations, paraphrased ideas, and citations are cited and all in-text citations and references are in correct APA format. Use an appropriate academic writing style (See Academic Writing Style) and proper APA formatting. Refer to your APA Publication Manual for more information. 

Specifically the following critical elements must be addressed: 
1. Identify and describe media and technology’s impact on communication generally, using examples, in terms of: a) Social roles and relationships b) Future trends in communication, culture, and relationships c) Global culture 
2. Analyze the effects of the transition from print to electronic media on the interests and well-being of: a) Individuals b) Communities c) The global community 
3. Demonstrate the use of academic writing standards, organizing and presenting the ideas supported by research in a logical order. 

Rubric Guidelines for Submission: Analysis paper assignments should follow these formatting guidelines: Use of three sources, 2 to 4 pages (not including the References section), double spacing, 12-point Times New Roman font, one-inch margins, and citations for all quotations and paraphrasing of ideas and all in-text citations and references are provided in correct APA format.
