Discussion post reply due tomorrow evening

Sleep is an important and essential aspect of a humans life. It is detrimental that a decent amount of sleep is consistently achieved. However, there are some people that struggle with getting the correct amount of sleep that their body needs. This is called insomnia. Insomnia is gauged based off how someone is the day following their sleep (Kalat, 2019). Insomnia can cause sleep deprivation which has issues within itself. There are different reasons that people may experience insomnia. These include pain, stress, noise, medication, conditions of the body, along with some other factors (Kalat, 2019). To then deal with insomnia, one must be able to identify the reason it is occurring to them, which is why it is important to know the different possibilities. If the person does not deal with their insomnia, it can lead to sleep deprivation, which causes tremendous issues. Memory, attention, and cognition can be impaired, along with having trouble controlling one’s emotions and can develop mental illnesses (Kalat, 2019). These issues can affect people’s day to day lives and will continue to grow worse if not dealt with.Personally, I have encountered sleep deprivation before. It has never been for multiple nights in a row, but I have felt the effects of not getting enough sleep. When I was younger I would suffer from horrible migraines. There were no reason for them, but they were chronic. While many times there was not a specific event that caused them, if I did not get enough sleep the night before, I would definitely get a migraine the following day. That helped me learn to make sure I get enough sleep and to take care of myself in that manner. This can coincide with what scripture commands us to do. God wants us to take care of ourselves, so that we may follow Him and spread the good news to those around us (New International Version, 1973/2006). This is why it is important to make sure that we get enough sleep, so that we may continue to be the best servant of Christ that we can be.ReferencesKalat, J. 2019.
