Feminism and Legal Systems

One principal objective of feminist jurisprudence is to show how patriarchal assumptions have shaped the content of laws in a wide variety of areas: property, contract, criminal law, constitutional law, and civil rights law. After reading Chapter 3 and the posted article by Smith, discuss how laws naturally embody the values, attitudes, expectations, and presumptions of the dominant culture.
