Wisman discusses ideology in a critical light and presents it as a tool employed by social elites to advance their beliefs over the interests of the masses or majority in society. This is done, he argues, to undermine the majority’s political power over the ballot box and, by extension, undermine government in its endeavors to promote a common good. Finally, would it help or hinder discussion about globalization to examine it as ideology?
