Selecting the right supplier will involve various steps.
1. Identifying the supplier- This will be the first step, and the opinions of the stakeholders will be required as well as defining the selection process. The stakeholders, in this case, will be members of the research and development, quality assurance, marketing and information and technology manager.
2. Measure supply performance- the measurement will involve an audit assessment program
3. Gaining supplier feedback- A self-assessment questionnaire will help a identify performance gaps as well as knowing how the suppliers understand the way to operate.
4. Develop partnership
5. The supplier has to achieve certification – Certification can only be obtained if the supplier has sustained successful performance.
6. Ensure quality for the users, consumers and other stakeholders.
