Please Answer the Following Question

In this selection of Night, Elie experiences two executions within the camps. In the first from pages 61 thru 63, he describes the events and concludes with “I remember that on that evening, the soup tasted better than ever…” However, after the second execution on pages 63 thru 65, Elie says, “That night, the soup tasted of corpses.”

For your Apply, compare and contrast these two anecdotes. Wiesel uses a parallel conclusion, the description of how the soup tasted to him after these experiences, but they are opposite. Why?

Use details from the story (including word choice and/or sensory details) as well as Elie’s own analysis and perceptions to describe the impact that each execution had on him. Your response should be no more than 250 words.
