Assume you are a staffer working for a recently elected congressman. The congressman has asked for a presentation on the intelligence failures leading to the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. Assess how and why intelligence and law enforcement agencies failed to appreciate the threat before the actual attacks. Then, prepare a PowerPoint presentation that highlights your analysis. Recommend any actions you believe the congressman should take to prevent future attacks.

Be sure to address the following in your presentation:

  • Discuss examples of failed cooperation and the impact on the failure to prevent the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
  • Assess the likelihood of improving cooperation, given the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission.
  • Determine whether the reforms recommended have been implemented.

Incorporate appropriate animations, transitions, and graphics as well as speaker notes for each slide. The speaker notes may be comprised of brief paragraphs or bulleted lists.

Support your presentation with at least seven scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources may be included.
