Write or revise an overall ARGUMENT for your style memo. If you have no overall argument, write one. If you have one, revise it.
You might be used to thinking of this as a thesis. Instead think of it as a statement of purpose, indicating what your overall argument is about Steinbeck’s style and where it comes from, and how you imitated it.
It does NOT have to be one sentence; in fact it should be more. It should NOT use a simple list format; instead it should explain the relationship between ideas (a list lets a comma stand in for an explanation).
