These government actions and rules on the commerce can set the rules, how the trading should work within the country. Recent government action taken by the government of India had a huge impact on the business within India. that is the GST, Goods and Services Act. which came into existence in 2017 Which consist of the set of rules and regulations for central and state governments for taxation within their territory (Purohit, & Purohit, 2010). Before GST, if any new investor wants to invest and set up their business within the territory, the tedious process was first understanding multiple taxation systems within the state. These multiple taxes are different for each state based on their government. which had become a great barrier to new investors.
Having GST in the country can create a single taxation system within the country to eliminate any confusions and multiple levels of taxes. Though it was a great revolution in the Indian economy, there are problems associated with it. The major benefits were, single tax throughout the country, it can attract more investors, thereby increasing the domestic production. (Khan, & Shadab, 2012).
