Question 1:

As you read Nine facts about terrorism in the United States since 9/11 (https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2013/0…), consider the chart in item 6. Look at the number of attacks that were undertaken by each group. Provide your reaction to the list – did you expect one group to be higher/lower than another? Why or why not? Consider the top two entities responsible for the most attacks – why are these groups at the top, versus a group such as Al-Qa’ida.

Note: Initial Response of a minimum of 200 words and two (2) follow-up responses of more than 50 words. You can use other references besides Nine facts about terrorism in the United States since 9/11.

Question 2:

Based on your readings this week, you will discover that there are multiple definitions of a terrorist – and no specific consensus as to what a terrorist is (or isn’t). In the weekly reading When it comes to defining ‘terrorism,’ there is no consensus, it states “Sticking points are usually about conflicting national interests and unwillingness to change national legislative traditions.” Explain what YOU feel qualifies someone or a group as terrorists. Using the UMUC library, chose one scholarly reference that supports your reasoning.

Note: Initial Response of a minimum of 200 words and two (2) follow-up responses of more than 50 words. You can use other references besides the one (1) scholarly reference from UMUC library.
