The major advantage of understanding accounting is understanding it at all. It has had its confusing moments throughout this class, but was easier to understand the more I got to practice various scenarios. In my career right now, once I get to management level here at Gulfstream I still probably wont have to have that knowledge to do my job. That is of course I decide to move into the accounting department. So the advantage would be to have that knowledge on my resume. The disadvantage is the same thing, it would not be a requirement for me unless I decided to do it. I am however, glad that I was able to learn the basics. Who knows where this life is going to take me, I may need it further down the road. I have thoroughly enjoyed this class with the “hands on” experience.
