Over the past decade we have seen an unprecedented demand for transferring large amounts of data via the Internet that requires high speed performance such as streaming media and Voice over IP communications. A few Internet service providers were quick to provide the infrastructure required for such applications and now are in a very lucrative position to gain from this control.
