Read article and answer this two questions.
1. If you were presented with the kind of red flag statements that the PR professional in this chapter heard at her new company, what would you say in response? Would it make sense to discuss these ideas with the lower-level people who made the statements, or with the bosses, or both? How long would you try to keep the conversation going with the company’s leadership if their views clearly differed from yours?
2. Can you think of an instance when you would knowingly release incorrect information while representing a company? Does the value of loyalty ever trump truth? If so, give an example. Do you think that omitting facts that don’t serve company’s purposes is as bad as releasing know inaccuracies? Why or why not?
The assignment is expected to be typed in English, in a 12-point font, double-spaced, at least 300 words long, and free of errors in spelling, punctuation, or grammar. Students are expected to present a clear thesis and to construct valid, logical arguments with supporting evidence in responding to the question. Most of the assignment should be written by the student, not just quoting sources. No more than 20% should match something already in the Turnitin database.
